Reservoir Management
The "Montage" approach to Reservoir Management has been the cornerstone of Merchant Consulting in evaluating reservoir performance in both basin and field evaluations. These methods were originally developed at Amoco (SPE 26624, "Reservoir Management in CO2 Floods") during the 1980's and 1990's to manage CO2 Tertiary Performance on a well-by-well, pattern-by-pattern basis.
The "Montage" approach provides reservoir understanding through "Visualization" and "Integration".
Today, these mehods include "Experimental Design" concepts carried over from Reservoir Simulation. The concepts are based on "Integration" and "Visualization" of data at well, pattern, and field levels.
The "Production Well Montage" targets Individual Well Performance.
The "Pattern Well Montage" targets Pattern Performance.
The "Geology-PetroPhysics Montage" targets Reservoir Characterization.
The "Integrated Well Montage" combines Pattern Performance with Reservoir Characterization.
The "Reservoir Simulation" incorporates data from all disciplines.
